Today we talked about arguments. The speaker, the audience and the purpose is needed for an argument. We also talked about Ethos Logos and pathos. We practice with pictures and videos of ads and commercials.

Today we continued reading fences. We also did a test in characterization. Indirect and direct characterization. Steal was also a part of it. I think I did well on the test.

Today we learned about characterization. "Steal" was an easy way to remember this. S for speech, T for thoughts, E or effects, a for action, and l or looks. We also continued reading our book, I had a chance to read out loud.
9/20/22
I wasn't here yesterday but today we had to answer questions on the book everyone read. The book was about Troy and Bono. I quickly read the book and then answer 8 questions we were all given.

We again continued working on our on pager for the Rockpile. We also had a sub today since Mr.Rease wasn't here. The sub will also be there again tomorrow. I manage to finish my work and all I have left is to color and post it here.

Today we had a pop quiz on The Rockpile. It was a test to use the elimination strategy. It was an easy quiz and I did well. We continued to work on the one page for the Rockpile as well.

Today we read The Rockpile by James Baldwin. we read half of it until we had to stop since we were switching class. I remember the story being about Roy and John, Roy who doesn't obey his and John who does.
Sept 9th Bell Ringer
Veterans past experiences affects them in their present life. One way is them not liking loud noises due to past experiences. Them hearing loud noises can make them scared. If a veteran has children, it could cause him to be physically and mentally away from their children.

Today I finished the benchmark. I think I did okay, I finished the essay part today. We had to type 3 paragraphs.

Today we started on our American Literature Benchmark. It's something we will do every month to see our progress. Tomorrow we will finish the test by answering question 20 which is writing prompt.

Today we went over how to do process of elimination. 1. Eliminate the obvious wrong answers. And then you will usually have 2 answers left. One will be somewhat right and the other will be the right answer.

Today we did the test on Emily Dickinson's poets. I think I did good, I haven't checked my grade but hopefully I passed.

Today we had a lockdown due to fights. I need later one we had people from the district here so that was embarrassing for the school. While we were still in a level 1 lockdown, another fight happened in the gym. We have a test tomorrow on Emily Dickinson and I am prepared.
